Alternative drawing workshop with Mikkel Sommer
In the framework of the exhibition of the modern Nordic children literature a series of meetings and workshops with authors, experts and illustrators are organized. All events are divided into three thematic weekends dedicated to literature in general, translation and illustration. On 4th October 13.00 the illustrator and graphic designer Mikkel Sommer will carry on the workshop on alternative drawing.
Mikkel Sommer is an artist from Denmark. For over a decade now he has been making children’s books, comics, character designs for animation and editorial illustrations. He is based in Athens and Berlin.
About workshop: It will be an exercise in alternative drawing, an exploration on how we put down lines and what subtle differences we can make to put more life and intuitiveness into our drawings. It will be playful and concentrated more on the act of drawing itself, and not so much on career or content.
The workshop is designed for illustrators. Participants have to take pens / pencils and their favorite materials.
Estimated time of the workshop — 2 hours. The workshop will be held in English with Russian translation.
